Emergency Management & Training is pleased to be hosting "Risk Management in Fire Services" in Barrie ON.

Featured Speakers Include:

Greg Durocher - President, Overhaul Strategies from Denver, Colorado. Greg is a career firefighter / paramedic whose company provides coaching and strategic intervention for firefighters, officers and their families. He will be speaking on "Understanding the Fundamental Drivers of Firefighter Behavior."

Chief Lyle Quan - Fire Chief, Waterloo Fire Department. Lyle is an instructor at Dalhousie University in the Fire Service Leadership & Administration Program and Lakeland College in the Bachelor's Degree of Applied Business: Emergency Services program. He is also an associate instructor for Emergency Management Ontario and the Ontario Fire College.

Captain Alan Brody - Alan is a training officer with a composite fire department in the GTA and well known instructor at the Ontario Fire College, Ontario Association of Fire Chief's convention and a Director of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors.

Gary Wood - Gary is currently the CEMC for Huron County and will be speaking on the Goderich Tornado. Gary's past experience includes: Captain - Windsor FD; Fire Chief - East Perth FD; Deputy Chief - Huron County EMS.

 Emergency Preparedness for Summer Camps Seminar

In 2009 the Emergency Management & Training Inc. team was called after a tornado swept through West Grey, ON tragically taking the life of an 11 year old boy who was attending a camp in the area at the time of the disaster. This being only one tragedy of many, that take place each year, we decided that we needed to help.

Emergency preparedness is vital when you are responsible for the lives of others, especially children. Attending this seminar will allow you the opportunity to learn more about keeping yourself, other staff members/volunteers and campers safe by understanding the potential emergency situations that you my face, how they can impact you and your camp and the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency.

smallFireTruckThe Train-the-Trainer CEVO seminar is a one day session geared for training officers, health and safety officers, fire officers, paramedic supervisors, managers and anyone responsible for driver training and risk reduction in driving an emergency vehicle.

Motor vehicle accidents are one of the chief causes of death and serious injury of firefighters and paramedics. Emergency response also has the potential to place civilians at risk. CEVO training is designed to reduce the risk to both the responders as well as the public.

Meet your health and safety obligations to provide driver training to your firefighters and paramedics.

The one day Train-the-Trainer seminar includes the CEVO Instructors kit (fire or Ambulance) with DVD and a Response Guide (total value $303).
